VITAL HEALTH BENEFITS: Shilajit is a brown to blackish-brown sedimentary rock exudate composed of humus substances and organic plant material. Its biologically active compounds include fulvic acids, among others. Shilajit exhibits antioxidant and adaptogenic properties.* It is an important mineral pitch (herbo-mineral resinous substance) of ancient Indian cultures and it is to this day used extensively by modern day Indian herbalists for a variety of reasons. GENTLE EXTRACTION PROCESS: The resin is gathered from a pristine, high elevation (8,000 ft above sea level or higher) mountainous region in India. It then undergoes a proprietary, low-heat (below 96° F) water extraction process to filter, purify, and concentrate the resin material. The concentration process allows for a higher than average fulvic acid content. The resulting extract is dried via wind drying. This gentle wind drying process avoids the high heat typically applied when herbs are spray dried. The result is a clean, smoky, intense and extremely earthy flavor with bitter-mineral tones without the burnt plastic taste that is common with some shilajits. HERBAL EXTRACTS: No harsh solvents used in the extraction process; only purified water is used. The shilajit is tested for solvent residues and active ingredient potency. The fulvic acid content is verified using a 3rd-party lab which specializes in testing fulvic and humic acid substances via the most current and most accurate testing method. This method is sanctioned by AOAC International (Association of Official Agricultural Chemists) and the International Humic Substances Society (IHSS).
